Grid infrastructure must be maintained methodically and continuously – including clearing and felling of edge trees to avoid costly phase interruptions due to falls on the line. As neutral partners with no connection to landowners, contractors or grid companies, we carry out forest investigations and internal checks.

Planning documents: Produce planning documents and map material based on laser scanning.
Project management: We can handle forest inspections and edge tree administration, clearing in utility lines, encroachment assessments or landowner mailings as an external resource.
Internal control: Our internal control services are comprehensive and include conducting field inventories with assessment of clearing work performed, recording general statistics on performance and deviations, using data to compile reports and maps, and following up on forest inspections.

Forest inventory

Field has extensive experience in remote sensing-based forest inventory. By combining LiDAR data and aerial imagery with field measurements, we can provide accurate and cost-effective inventory results over large areas. Typical variables include tree height, tree species, diameter, growing stock and carbon stock. Using time series, we can also estimate site index, felling class and age. We use both area-based and detailed SingleTree analyses for a variety of clients, ranging from forest industry and power utilities to railway and road authorities and municipalities.
